The Bible for All: How to Pray for Bible Translation

DAY 4 OF 5

Walking with Jesus

Over 76% of the Bible was written in Hebrew. The entire Bible was written by Jews who had a Hebraic worldview. So, whenever we get a chance to unpack the meaning of a biblical Hebrew word, layers and layers of insights are guaranteed to amaze us. Halach is one of those words. One meaning is the word “walk” (Genesis 13:17). Yet, as the contexts change, the meanings multiply. It can mean the way one should go (Genesis 17:1) or live (Psalm 1:1). Throughout the centuries, the meanings have converged into a powerful truth that when we walk with God, we are obeying his ways.

How can you really know God and his ways if you don’t have the Bible in your own language?

The Bible is the book that transforms nations because when we read God’s Word, we begin to walk with Jesus. In Luke 10:1 we read of an example of the power of the Spirit of God that breaks forth when we walk with Jesus into areas of the world still without the gospel. Jesus is still leaving the 99 sheep to go after the one lost sheep (Luke 15:4). Will you walk with Jesus today and release prayers to heaven that will change the history of the Bibleless here on earth?

Prayer habit #4: Pray while you walk.

We can be honest and admit that sometimes prayer can be hard and even tiring. One of the best ways to grow in prayer is to mix it in with an active and energizing habit, such as walking. Whether you pray more than you walk or walk more than you pray, bring the two habits together into one. Prayer walking is one of the most ancient practices of mankind. As you walk and enjoy the outdoors, God will speak to you through creation. Your body will be happy as you exercise, and inviting others can make it quite enjoyable. Today, walk with Jesus, literally, and ask him to give you prayers for people still waiting to know his life-giving ways found in the Bible. Enjoy the video below to be encouraged in your prayers for the Bibleless.
