The Final Lessons: A Holy Week Plan

DAY 5 OF 10

Help

Have you ever been around someone whose days were numbered on earth? Every second, every syllable is treasured. Nothing is missed. It isn’t the time to shoot the breeze. Final goodbyes, wishes, proclamations, and advice aren’t flippant whisperings.

Jesus also knew it was His time (John 13:1) and was making the most of these final hours. We are half way to Easter, let’s keep leaning in and listening to His final words.

Read John 14:15-31

This is so good. Only one problem: I don’t like asking for help.

What about you? Do you mind asking for help? Or does it give you the hives too?

Being vulnerable enough to admit that you need help is the most courageous thing you could do. When you find you’ve reached the end of yourself, the most courageous thing you can do is let the Holy Spirit help you.

I’ve experienced this power the past year in ways I never fathomed. The same month I found out I was pregnant with my third child was the same month I stepped out and decided to start a ministry. I was in way over my head. Being a doer who couldn’t do and an overachiever, who was just surviving, was humbling. Even so, the grace of God and the power of the Holy Spirit took my humble offering and multiplied it. (To God be all the glory.)

Have you experienced a time when you are certain the Holy Spirit helped you through?

Are you experiencing something now that you could use the Helper’s help?

Ask Him to help you. Be vulnerable.

Two things have been incredibly helpful to me this past year and a half. I say this verse aloud often:“He said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” 2 Corinthians 12:9-10

About this Plan

The Final Lessons: A Holy Week Plan

Let’s slow down this Holy Week and learn from Christ’s final days on earth. Each day we will receive lessons or gifts that He took the time to give. Do you need a fresh reminder of what mattered most to Christ—that you love His people and follow Him? What could He want to teach you this Holy Week?
