[Christ Manifested in Us] Part 2

DAY 4 OF 7

Living a Life that Glorifies God

When one declares who a person is—their position, the function they perform, the titles they have, the works they have done, and all the good things they have accomplished—that person is being glorified. The ultimate expression of glorification is when the Spirit makes Jesus’ life and teaching known to us. We glorify Christ in the same way when we tell others what we know about Him, who He is, and what He can do. We should want to glorify Him just as the Spirit glorifies Him in our lives.

The Spirit’s mission, the reason the Spirit is in us, is to show us what is within us: Christ’s life, mind, riches, inheritance, spiritual blessings; He makes us aware of what we already own. The Spirit takes what is inside of us and transfers it on to the soul, to our intellect, so we can grasp it.

The problem is that we always want to see the work from the outside in, but we have to allow His work to be yielded from the inside out. From what we already own—from His riches, His wisdom, His mind, and from the life of Christ—the Holy Spirit ministers to our souls. Jesus says, “All that belongs to the Father is mine.” We receive the inheritance of the Son.

Jesus said, “My Father has entrusted everything to me.” Paul said, “For everything comes from Him and exists by His power and is intended for His glory.” He also said, “Since He did not spare even His own Son but gave Him up for us all, won’t He also give us everything else?” Everything the Father has is ours. It has been given to us in Christ.

How much of the Father do we have? How much of His Spirit did He give us?

The way to be co-heirs with Christ is by the work of the Spirit. The Spirit teaches us that everything about Christ is also ours, which is why He gave us the right to be called children of God. His glory is in us.
