SUBMIT TO ONE ANOTHER
For a marriage to work it need to be built on love. Lust is selfish, looking to take what it gets. Love is unselfish, focused on what it can give. When Paul talks about submission it's often been seen as a one-way street. On the contrary the context shows its a mutual sacrifice.
The woman is encouraged to submit to her husband while the man is requested to give his own life for his wife. Who is asked the most? As a woman you have to ask yourself if you at all ought to marry a man you are not willing submitting to. As a man if this woman is worth dying for? Preferably before getting married. It’s not about who ought to cook or take care of your finances. The Scripture is after the attitude of the heart.
Too many women are left behind by men who continues being irresponsible boys. Too many husbands are being controlled by their wives instead of encouraged towards the spiritual leadership God intended.
Marriage is a joint venture pronounced sacrificial, unselfish love.
Are you ready to sacrifice yourself for your future or present partner?
