Affair Prevention in Marriage

DAY 6 OF 6

Whether it is an affair or something else in your marriage that is separating the two of you, it’s time for things to change. Start with prayer. Ask God to let you see your spouse through His eyes. Ask God to guide you in the areas you need to change. Today we see Adam and Kristi’s restoration.

Adam says that God is a God of second chances. We see His forgiveness all across Scripture and in today’s verse from Psalm 32. We need to be willing to extend that same grace to our spouse. Forgive as the Lord has forgiven you.

As Adam and Kristi went through this process and saw God work in each other’s hearts, the day came when Adam asked Kristi to move back home. It was a big deal and a confirmation of all God was doing in their lives.

Here is my question for you. Is it time for the two of you to “move back in?” It may be physical. It may be emotional. It may be another way. Wherever your marriage is today or has been in the past, stand together and let God inject His amazing love back into your marriage.

After you watch the video, talk about the following questions.

  • What are three things that can separate the two of you? What part do each of you play when these happen? What can you each do to break these patterns?
  • Ask God to help you see each other through His eyes.
  • What does “move back in” mean to you and your marriage? What is your first step in making that happen?
  • Ask God to inject His incredible love every day into your marriage.

As you answered the questions, what did you learn both as individuals and as a couple? What is a good next step for the two of you from what you learned?

Epilogue: No matter what marriage killer harms our lives or our marriage, God has the antidote. He has the answers we don’t have on our own. His love for us is too big to comprehend. He redeems and restores. He stands at the door of your marriage and knocks. Your role? Simply open the door and invite Him in.

Resource: Weekly Check in

Will you take 15 minutes each week to check up on your marriage?

One of the BEST things you can for your marriage is having a set time each week to talk about important things and to check in with each other and check up on your marriage. This will help you stay on track, communicate well, and connect better. Grab the guide here!
