Real Hope: Joy

DAY 2 OF 5

Shout for Joy!

My son never stops singing (and, for that matter, neither do I!). There is always a song in his heart. It’s innate in him to sing—to burst forth in song.

In this verse and passage, God was about to perform a miracle in the life of the children of God. They had been barren, bereaved, desolate, and rejected. I love how God’s first instruction to the barren is to shout for joy and start singing . . . yes . . . "Break forth into joyful shouting and rejoice."

The Bible is full of many instances of barrenness where men and women of faith had to trust God through the journey into fruitfulness. Abraham (and Sarah) received the blessings of many children from God because Abraham believed God. He believed that God could do what He had promised. When the time was right, Abraham had that son just as God had promised.

You may feel like you are in a season of barrenness, feeling unfruitful, and it’s robbing you of your joy. If you are cast down in spirit, God says start singing; break forth and cry aloud. Sing. Sing because God is good, and He is worthy of ALL of our praise! God is bigger than the problem. God can bring a miraculous turnaround in your situation! We serve a God, El Shaddai, who is ALL-mighty, whose arm is not shortened, and for whom all things are possible. Nothing is too wonderful for our God.

About this Plan

Real Hope: Joy

In the Bible the word "joy" is mentioned over 200 times. It seem like it is an emotion that we as Christians should intrinsically understand and be able to relate to, but sometimes this is not the case. This plan has been designed to help you explore the gift of joy!
