Rekindle the Altar Fire: Welcome God's Presence

DAY 5 OF 5

The Fire of Obedience

Our worship is demonstrated through wholehearted obedience to God’s will. Indeed, the only way to honor God and express our true love for Him is by obeying Him.

Obedience requires total submission to God and determination to fulfill His purpose. That is why obedience is better than sacrifice in God’s eyes. Obedience involves your whole heart, will, strength, and soul. True worship involves your entire being. Something less may look like worship, but it is not.

Obedience to God is more than an emotional response to music or a moving message. It always involves some measure of sacrifice at the altar. That is why it was so painful for Jesus to go to the cross. Jesus fulfilled the will of His Father through obedience, maintaining humility of attitude and purity of heart.

Obedience with a heart of humility is a sure foundation for worship. This is the true humility that enables us to glorify Him in everything we do, day and night, like the 24 elders described in the book of Revelation who fell before God in worship.

Fire on the altar for a fresh fire of revival begins here. Living for His will starts by knowing His will. Jesus did not just say, “I obey My Father”; He said that He had come to do the will of His Father, even when facing the cross. When Paul received his calling, he was told that the God of his fathers had chosen him to know His will. Fire on the altar for a fresh fire of revival begins with knowing the will of God for our personal lives and obediently fulfilling that will.

Everlasting life is a gift given to those who repent and believe in Jesus Christ. The fire of God follows salvation, empowering us for Kingdom life. Let us stand strong, welcoming the fire of God to purify our hearts.

Questions to Ponder: In your own words, describe true worship in one or two sentences. What are the signs that let you know whether or not your life is in order?

Day 4

About this Plan

Rekindle the Altar Fire: Welcome God's Presence

You are about to enter a journey of experiencing revival through the principle of God’s altar—not only an ancient concept but a necessary part of worship today. This altar is where you present worship and praise. It is a place of anointing, which breaks the yoke of the enemy. It is a place of overcoming and daily communion. Rebuild your altar—and let the fire of God fall!
