Rise Up & Stand Firm—A Study of 1 Peter (Part 2)

DAY 4 OF 5

Living to Glorify God

How’s your learning going? I want to encourage you to continue to engage in your note-taking observations. I am praying for your growth and believing you’re gaining insight from your in-depth time in God’s Word. Keep it up!

Pray:

Holy Spirit, I love You. I am ready to learn and grow. Please reveal Your ways to me today.

Today’s Goal:

Make connections from today’s reading to the rest of 1 Peter, grow in our love for God, and live out what we learn.

Study Tip:

If you come across a word, verse, or passage that needs more clarity, write it down, look at other translations, and consider doing more research on it.

Read and Write:

Grab your notebook and quickly review yesterday’s study notes. This is important because we want to make good connections with the text.

Next, read through 1 Peter 2:11-17 and write down your observations.

  • What do sinful desires do (see verse 11)?
  • List all that Christians (foreigners and exiles) are urged to do.
  • What are two good outcomes that follow “doing good”?
  • How many times do you see the word “good” appear? And what is the context?
  • Write a summary of 1 Peter 2:11-17.

Reflect:

  • Who is it most difficult for you to submit and show respect to?
  • What do you think Peter means by stressing that these Christians are “foreigners” and “exiles”? How would keeping this truth in mind affect the way you live today?

Apply:

  • Based on today’s lesson, in what way will you rise up and stand firm?
