Covered in My Womb

DAY 2 OF 5

Less Media and More Bible

Prior to my family’s sudden affliction, we spent more time studying the Word than following updates on the pandemic. This made it easier to trust God for our healing,  instead of fearing that our condition might worsen. God’s Word was dwelling richly in us (Colossians 3:16) and guarding our hearts against the arrow of fear. Fear kills faster than any disease. The Word dispels fear and is medicine for our body and soul  (Proverbs 4:20-22).

I will be honest that I had a little concern for the child in my womb. However, God’s Word dispelled my fear. Psalm 139:13 - For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb. That was the Bible verse impressed on my heart when fear showed up. I held onto that Bible verse.

Are you pregnant? You can hold on to Psalm 139:13, meditate on it, and say “God has covered the child in my womb.”

Are you anxious or feeling depressed? Find what the Bible says about depression and anxiety, meditate on it, believe, and confess the Word.

It is a great blessing that we have the Holy Spirit, our helper, and comforter who brings the right Word to our remembrance (John 14:26). Can we remember what we have not encountered, heard, or experienced? I do not think so. We must spend more time in God’s Word if we want the Holy Spirit to remind us of God’s Word regarding every situation.

Less media and more Bible is good for the spirit, soul, and body.
