30 Day Challenge: A Walk Through Proverbs

DAY 8 OF 31

Day Eight

Read Proverbs 8

Throughout the book of Proverbs, wisdom is personified as a woman. In today’s reading we hear from wisdom and learn more about her. Take time to read through and think about all the ways that wisdom is described. At the end of the passage we see that those who love wisdom find life, but those who don’t end up hurting themselves (maybe not physically, but spiritually or emotionally). Have you seen this to be true in your own life?

Reflect

When was wisdom created?

What are some other times that the passage tells us wisdom was present?

Do you know what the word blessed means? It means to be made holy. Look back at verses 32-36. Who are the kinds of people who are blessed, or made holy?

Engage

Verse 35 says whoever finds wisdom finds life and obtains favor from the LORD. Based on what you’ve read and learned from Proverbs so far, how can you find wisdom?

An Extra Mile

Go back and read Genesis 1 where God creates the heavens and the earth. God had and has all wisdom. Reflect on what that means for how God made you.

About this Plan

30 Day Challenge: A Walk Through Proverbs

Oftentimes life looks like an open road and we aren’t sure which way it will turn. Other times, we feel like we are in control of where we are heading—no need to stop for directions. As believers, we must make sure that our GPS is programmed to the Word. God is our ultimate guide through the journey; He is the Creator of the road itself.
