"In The River" - Kim Walker Smith
As Christians, we aren't promised an easy life. In fact the Bible says the opposite. It says that we will indeed face many hardships. But there is a weapon of warfare that we often forget about when things get tough: JOY! Joy is one of the fruits of the Spirit and should be something that marks our lives. When non-believers come around us, they should seeing an overwhelming joy and an inner happiness that can't be explained other than Jesus. Isn't it a crazy thought that in the middle of something difficult, we could be flooded with joy, smiling, and even laughing?! But it's not crazy at all! The enemy hates that! He would love nothing better then steal your joy and extend your misery. So don't let him! Run into the presence of God and allow Him to fill you with joy. It disarms the enemy and the bible says that the joy of the Lord is your strength! So if you are feeling weak and run down, you need some more joy. Run into His presence; run to the river!
