Walk Through The Bible 365 - January

DAY 11 OF 31

The Only True Obedience Is Immediate Obedience

The Bible does not tell us how Abraham convinced Isaac to lay down and let him be tied him down as a sacrifice. One thing we know is that the relationship of father and son are very close. They know and understand each other very well. Their obedience is immediate obedience to God. This is not blind obedience, but obeyed by exercising their faith in God, and understanding the love and promises of God. Isaac did not argue and run away. He obeyed his father to do what Abraham asked him to do. As a son of God, am I obeying God? As a parent or spiritual parent, have I shown my faith and love in God like Abraham, so that my children, like Isaac, can see my faith and love for them?

Prayer: Jesus Lord help me to not just pray, but to be sensitive to your voice, hear it and immediately obey. Help me to be a good example for my children to see and follow You. In your name I pray, Amen.
