Multiplying Your LifeSample
Description
Regardless of how talented, passionate and smart we are, none of us has everything it takes to accomplish God’s purposes. We were created to need each other and to contribute. Some of us are detail oriented, while others prefer the big picture. Some of us are extroverted people-gatherers while others prefer to work behind the scenes. The Bible talks about our differences too, and about how we fit together for God’s glory. As we get into the details of what we may do together in our Kingdom Venture, think about what you have to offer. We will explore what each of us has to offer as a sacred stewardship of what God has given us.
Expertise Applied
In 1996, the Chicago Bulls won the NBA championship after winning 72 games in the regular season - the most any team had ever won. They were led by one of the greatest players of all time, Michael Jordan. However, as good as Michael Jordan was, he could not have won the championship without the support of the other key players on the team, who filled key roles to help make the team the greatest championship team ever. Think about something you are responsible for, but cannot do it alone. Here’s a thought - your group may split, and not in a bad way. It may be obvious that there are two or three different paths you could take that would express specific and separate visions for impact. That’s okay! In fact, this is an opportunity to potentially have twice the impact.
Since this is all really about what God wants to do in and through our lives anyway, don’t be surprised if it takes a creative turn. In today's scripture passages, it seems that some of the Israelites gave of their skill, and some others gave "contributions.” What do the passages describe in relation to “teamwork?" Why do you think Kingdom Ventures might be best done in community? What are some pitfalls community might help us to avoid? As you read these verses, and plan your Kingdom Ventures, think of the following: Each other, The Holy Spirit. In what ways have you seen a correlation between your spiritual gifts and your vocation? Think about your individual gifts and how you can value each other’s contribution.
