A Compelling Truth: A 30 Day Journey through Galatians with Rob Stanmoreნიმუში

DAY 20
Jesus is either everything to us, or nothing to us.
Paul is reinforcing that we cannot hold to grace if we are living by works. We cannot earn our way to God’s acceptance. As Paul writes, Christ will be of no value at all.
If we were to choose to live by works, it would become our only system and would mean we were required to obey the whole law, like in verse 3, which is impossible.
If we fall into this trap, we think by earning our acceptance from God, we could ‘unearn' it by our future behaviour.
It’s either live by the law or live by grace.
When Jesus is everything to us, we throw out the insecurity of performance and we pick up confidence.
Jesus has already paid for our sin on the cross. Your confidence is no longer in your works, your performance, or your behaviour.
You can step forward into your future with a bold confidence knowing you are accepted and loved by God.
Question
How can you find more confidence in Jesus today, rather than your performance?
