DAY 1 OF 7

Obey. Obey. Obey.

Try reading Psalm 119 and circling every time it says obey.

You'll be circling like there was no tomorrow. The word obey, obey, obey, obey, obey, obey. It's clear that God keeps saying in this song, “You should hang out in my word. You should learn from my words. Your life should reflect my decrees.” And this writer keeps saying, “Teach me, teach me, teach me, teach me.”

But obeying is pretty basic, isn't it? It's about getting in the word, staying in the word, and obeying it. And so many of us, me included, can pick up an iPad and look at social media or the news, and then we can read a book about leadership and then say, oh, too late. Gotta go. No time for the Bible.

And yet, Psalm 119 says God’s word really matters. Get in it. And when you're done reading it, do what it says. At the end, it says, “I have not forgotten your commands.” And after all is said and done, when all the dust is settled, when we're all not living on earth anymore, if the earth is still here, we want to say that we honored God in everything that we did and that we made a difference for the kingdom of God.

Because our company is not going to heaven. The company entity is not going to pass through the pearly gates. You, and anyone you invite to join you, are the only people going through.

About this Plan

The 24-Hour Entrepreneur

We want to start each day this week by asking one question: What does it look like to be faithful today? That’s it. Just one day at a time. Find out how your journey with God might look different as you take it one step, one 24-hour period, at a time.
