2 Samuel

DAY 2 OF 35

Questions to consider:

1. What does this passage teach you about God?

2. What does this teach you about humanity and the world?

3. Even now, David still has opposition from Israel toward his kingship. How do you think this would make you feel? Would you have sought out peace and blessed the other tribes despite how they treated you, like David did? Why or why not?

4. Abner goes to war against David, because he wants Saul’s son to be king instead, which was against God’s will. By going against God, Abner ends up losing the battle horrendously. What was a time you went against God’s will? Why do you think you acted that way? How can you learn to follow God’s will better?

Let’s pray:

Father God, I pray that you would help me find forgiveness, patience, and mercy for those who are against me. When enemies attack, I pray that you help me to forgive and let you deliver justice.
