DAY 4 OF 6

Because of Jesus, We Can Have the Gift of Grace

We live in an amazing time. We’re surrounded by all sorts of technology that wasn’t around when our parents and grandparents were our age.

And science isn’t finished yet! Check out these technologies being developed right now:

  • Hyperloop: This train-like vehicle will travel through tubes at a speed of 600 miles per hour. That means a trip from San Francisco to Los Angeles (which normally takes six hours) would only take around 35 minutes!
  • Self-driving cars: Cars that drive themselves can improve traffic and lessen the number of car accidents. Plus, how cool would it be to have family movie night while you’re on a road trip?
  • Helium balloon rides to space: By taking a special capsule attached to a helium balloon, you may be able to take a ride up to space!

Those all sound amazing, right? Some of them sound too good to be true.

That’s what we’re talking about today—something that sounds too good to be true, but is true. And that thing is grace

We can learn a lot about grace in Ephesians (which is a book in the Bible):

  1. Graces saves us.
  2. Grace doesn’t come from anything we do.
  3. No one can earn grace.

Guess who wrote the book of Ephesians. Do it! Guess!

It was Paul. Paul—the guy who met Jesus and was changed forever. The guy who went from putting Jesus followers in jail to being a Jesus follower. You can definitely say that Paul was an expert on grace!

Paul teaches us that grace is a gift.

It’s the gift of forgiveness every time we mess up.
It’s the gift of being loved by God before we even know who He is.
It’s the gift of being in God’s family forever, no matter what.

Grace sounds too good to be true, but it is true.

DO THIS

Grab some paper and a pencil. Draw a picture of what you want to invent—something that is too good to be true.

While you’re drawing, remember that even though it sounds too good to be true, because of Jesus, we can have the gift of grace.

Day 3Day 5

About this Plan

Focus: A 6-Day Interactive Devotional On Faith For Kids

Having faith means trusting in what you can’t see because of what you can see. That’s hard. How can we know God is real? Can we trust Him when bad or scary things happen? What about when we do bad things? Will He forgive us? Through this Bible Plan, we’ll take a closer look at what it means to put our faith in Jesus (and how it makes life better).
