DAY 1 OF 9

The Strength in You

Ephesians 2:10

For we are God’s handiwork.

Many years after the death of Joshua, the Israelites started to worship other gods. Only when they were in trouble, they cried out to God. No matter how messed up the Israelites became, God continued to rescue them. He sent His judges to free the Israelites from their oppressors.

There was a judge named Ehud. The Bible says that Ehud was left-handed. During his time, a king named king Eglon was oppressing the Israelites. One day, following God’s instruction, Ehud carried a weapon and met the king. Ehud managed to convince the king that he was on his side and he had an important secret message to tell the king. While the evil king didn’t expect it, Ehud reached with his left hand, took out the sword that was tied to his right upper leg, and defeated king Eglon with one stab. Then Israel had peace for the next 80 years. God used Ehud’s strength to do the great task of freeing the Israelites from their oppressors.

You and I are God’s workmanship. He creates us and He puts some certain strengths in each of us. If you are willing to follow His lead, God will use your strengths to do great things too!

Prayer

Dear God, I want to follow Your lead and let You use my strengths to accomplish great things. Amen.
