The Power of Prayer
Prayer is not finished. It is not a “completed prayer" until it sees you through to the other side of your trial. We have not “prayed it through” until we have “lived it through” our trials by the strength we received in God’s presence.
Multitudes of Christians crisscross the country, attending seminars and conventions; networking, strategizing, borrowing worldly methods, and getting flesh-inspired counsel. In short, they are looking for any new thing that might excite them. But the praying servant who trusts God wholly knows He has no time for such concepts. The only place he runs is to his secret closet where he gets God’s counsel on his knees.
There is not a problem that he cannot solve through prayer. People who truly pray do not stay confused. People who pray get guidance.
All hell quakes at the effectual, fervent prayer of a single believer. The powerful praying of just one intercessor sounds like raging thunder in the caverns of the damned. Not one inch of space in hell remains unaffected by a believer who denies himself, takes up his cross, and follows Christ with his whole heart.
Faithful praying will not keep you out of a crisis. But prayer will prepare you to face it all with trust, to become a living sacrifice for Jesus’ sake!
