Love God Greatly: EmpoweredSample

Jesus’ time on earth had ended. He lived a perfect life, died a sacrificial death to atone for the sins of the world, and rose from the dead three days later. He defeated death, He removed our shame, and He restored our relationship with God. ⁣

Before Jesus ascended into heaven He gave His followers a great calling: to be His witnesses. He promised them the Holy Spirit would come (and it did!) and He explained to them how the power of the Holy Spirit would give them strength to tell the world about Him. ⁣

After ascending into heaven Jesus empowered the apostles, and all of His followers, to spread the message of the gospel. They were to tell the world all they saw Him do and all they witnessed during His ministry. Jesus changed the world, and it was time for the world to know about it. Empowered with the Holy Spirit, the disciples took the message of the gospel to Judea, Samaria, and the farthest parts of the earth, just as Jesus commanded them.⁣

Lord Jesus, thank You for entrusting the message of the gospel to Your disciples. I am humbled and thankful I have been able to hear and believe the truth of the gospel. Help me to be a witness to the gospel in my life and to all those around me. In Jesus’ name, amen.
