“I feel like I know you!”  This is a common confession of many fans to their favorite authors, but how could this be?  They have never met the author before. The reason for this profession is that in every piece of written word there is something called a "writer’s voice". In basic terms it is the personality of the writer being expressed through the words which he/she is writing. 

The next piece to this is called the tone, which has to do with the emotion behind what the writer is saying.  In other words, you get to know the author of a book by reading their personality, and hearing the emotion in which it is being written with. The more books you read by an author, the more you know the “voice" of the author, and the better you understand their personality.    

 God designed it this way. He knew that if people were to read His story they would begin to understand His personality, and the emotions that He feels for us.  The more you read the Bible, the more you know about God, and the more you are able to recognize His voice when He speaks to you. 

It’s so much more than that though, the more you read the Bible the more you realize that God is actually writing this book to you.  So now, not only do you hear His voice, and understand His emotions when you read the Bible, but you also realize that you are the person that He is writing the book for. 

Imagine opening the Bible to the page reserved for book dedications, and reading this:

To you, my beloved, the one whom I sent perfection to trade places with. I have pursued you from the beginning of time until the end of time.

This book, and my love, is dedicated to you.
