"Live Out or Be Hindered"
“We are called to live out!” What does that mean? Yes, we know “to live a life for Jesus”, but what does that look like? If we take a look at “the great cloud of witnesses” from the past (Hebrews 11) to our present times, we find great inspiration to see of how to live it out. One modern day example comes from a pastor’s wife who testified at a small gathering of believers. One night, an angry mob of villagers came to her home. They had just come from burning down their church building. As she stood at the doorway, her husband, who was pastor of that church, went out to talk to them. They shot him dead and took a shot at her. She was holding her young child in her arms. The bullet went into her arm that was holding her child. The bullet entered her arm, hit a bone, and ricocheted off at an angle so it did not harm the child. She escaped and now was talking to an astonished group of listeners. She held up her arm for the audience to see the scar of deformity that will be with her the rest of her life. Someone in the group asked her, “Do you have any hatred or bitterness toward those who did this to you?” Her reply echoes across the depths of eternity: “No…, how could I? God’s love, grace, and mercy fill my heart.” Do you get it? When God’s love fills us - we live it out.
Lord, I cannot do this on my own. It is Your Love, Your Grace, Your Mercy, Your Forgiveness, Your Power…. I commit myself to you. By Your strength, by Your Will help me to live out the life You have prepared for me. I am Yours…
