Finding Jesus In TechnologySample
Jesus is the password
Website passwords are challenging. You know, between the capital letters, the special characters, and the lowercase letters, it’s hard to keep them all straight. Because we’re told to use different passwords on different sites, how in the world can we remember them all and get access to our online accounts?
Personally, I can’t. This is why I love the auto-fill feature on my computer. It does all the work for me, putting in the password so I can have access to my shopping, my banking, and my work.
You know what? Membership in God’s family requires a password too. Not one with capital letters or numerals or special characters, but one that requires perfection.
How in the world will we ever get access with that kind of requirement? We won’t. At least not on our own.
This is why I love Jesus.
By dying on the cross for us, He met God’s requirement for punishment. By rising from the dead, He defeated Satan for us. And now, He did all the work for us so we can have access to what we need—a relationship with the Father here on earth and the promise of eternal life in heaven.
Jesus said, “I am the way and the truth and the life and the password. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6).
Okay, technically He didn’t say He was the password. But He was—and He still is.
