Fear Busters (Week 1)Sample
Day Three - Step out of your ‘boat’!
Yesterday we looked at some of the things that God promises us!
You can read this in the Beginners Bible (page 364-371) or in Matthew 14:22-33!
We can trust that God’s word is true because He always keeps His promises! We looked at how much trust it would have taken for Peter to step out of the boat and walk on the water towards Jesus!
When we think about ‘stepping out of the boat’ and what this means for us, it is referring to when we do things that might feel a little uncomfortable or make us a little bit afraid!
This might be sharing Jesus with your friends, not running out of the room when you see a spider, or sleeping in your room in the dark at night.
ASK:
Have a discussion about what stepping out of your ‘boat’ looks like.
What could you do today that makes you step out of your ‘boat’?
REMEMBER:
Our memory verse for this series, 2 Timothy 1:7, says that "For God has not given us a spirit of fear or timidity, but of power and of love and of a sound mind." This means that we don’t have to be afraid of anything! God is with you all the time, and He loves and cares for you so much!
FEARBUSTER PRAYER:
You are bigger than my fears, you wipe away my tears. I have a voice to pray, you teach me what to say. I am brave because of You! We tell our fear to quit, we've had enough of it!
