DAY 1 OF 3

What If?

Uncertainties build up in the mind until every thought is plagued with worry. Panic starts with one worry that quickly leads to a restless feeling that then leads to an irrational fear that ultimately leads to extreme anxiety. At this point, panic sets in and takes over. The mind, the emotions, and even the body spins out of control. Worry grapples for control, but ironically, control is exactly what the anxious person loses.

I know about the need for control firsthand. I believed that if things went exactly as I wanted, the entire world would be at peace, and there would be no problems. However, striving for this fantasy made my reality nothing but constant worry, heaviness, sorrow, and desperation. Like the prodigal son, I ran from my Father by trying to control everything myself, and I most definitely ended up in the pigpen.

Perhaps you know what I am talking about. It might not play out the same in your daily life, but you still know what it is like to fight with anxiety. Maybe for you, you worry too much. Perhaps, your worry has turned into great anxiety that has begun to affect your health. Maybe you also suffer from full-blown panic attacks. Wherever you find yourself on this anxiety spectrum, the healing promises of Christ are available to each one of us.

It is important to confess what we are struggling with. God can handle your worries, your anger, your uncertainty. None of it is too big for Him. Make a list of the things you are worried about today. Spend some time handing those worries over to the Lord in prayer.

Day 2

About this Plan

Not Yet

Sometimes we are waiting on God to answer our prayer before we feel like we can trust He’s even listening. But rest assured, God is listening. He is not standing far off somewhere waiting for you, but He is walking with you right in the middle of your brokenness and mess. He wants to meet you in your Not Yet moments.
