The FOUR: The Gospel Message in Four Simple Truths

DAY 3 OF 4

Ready:

JESUS RESCUES YOU

Sin does not stop God from loving you. Because of God’s great love, He became a human being in Jesus Christ and gave His life for you. At the cross, Jesus took your place and paid the penalty of death that you deserve for your sins.

Jesus died, but He rose to life again. Jesus offers you peace with God and a personal relationship with Him. Through faith in Jesus, you can experience God's love daily, discover your purpose, and have eternal life after death.

Set:

When your teammate misses a free throw, drops a pass, or hits a ball into the net, you still think of him or her as your teammate. Even though your teammate made a mistake, you still value him or her as a key player. Further, a great coach will step up and provide correction and guidance rather than rejection and dismissal because he or she cares more about the athlete than the results.

The same thing is true for God, our Ultimate Coach. He loves you so much that He provided a plan to defeat sin and death to have a relationship with you. Through His Son, Jesus, you have been saved from your sins. Jesus sacrificed His life and died for all sins, including yours, and was raised to life so you can have eternal life through Him. You are a very important player, a V.I.P., on God’s team!

So, fear not! When you sin or fall short, Jesus has your back and forgives you fully and completely. When you make mistakes, don’t lose hope of your salvation or your walk with God. It’s your job to trust in your Coach and allow Him to guide your life.

Go:

  1. What does it mean when Scripture says our sins were forgiven once and for all?
  2. How can knowing your sins are forgiven bring you peace?
  3. How does it make you feel when you think about what Jesus did for you?

Workout:

  • 1 Corinthians 15:3-8
  • Romans 5:8

Overtime:

“Dear Lord. Thank You for rescuing me from my sins. I am forever grateful for Your unwavering love and grace. Help me to turn towards You not against You when I sin. Help me to feel worthy of You when I fall short. Amen.”
