The Life of Jesus, Part 8 (8/10)

DAY 3 OF 5

What if....?

In the Netherlands there was a tv-show called “What if?”. This program explores how our reality would change if something in our world would be completely different. What if all ice is melted, what if we have no planes, etc.

As a Christian, I am often asked why there is so much hate, suffering, etc in the world. The question I recently asked myself is, what if the world would work according to God's original design? I believe the world would be an amazing place, like it was in the beginning. The beauty is that Jesus came to the world to restore how life was created. Love, joy, no death, sickness, etc. He gave his life in order for us to live life to the full. He did not fight or rebel against his execution though he had the power to. He allowed it happen.

Jesus shares what will happen in his life and also later on so his followers will understand that God has allowed this world to be ruled by human decisions and Satan the enemy of our souls for a time. So that his followers and us also can know that this is not God’s ultimate plan for his creation. Jesus promised that even though his death made no sense to them, he was making everything new.

Jesus made that promise and he gave his life for it. The spirit of God and Jesus is on the earth to us in the world we live in. To comfort us and to turn our attention to Jesus. The world of God’s original design is coming. That will be awesome. Let us try to live on his terms here and now. If people ask why there is so much suffering, I will answer that this world does not yet exist according to God's original design But we know that it will come, because he promised! Do you believe that too?
