THE HOLINESS OF THE LORD

One of the main requirements to see the glory of God is holiness. As believers, we give thanks to the Lord because He has sanctified us and redeemed us with the blood of Jesus. It is not by our own works; it is by the power of the blood of Jesus on the cross. 

In the time of the Old Testament, God’s chosen people –the Israelites – were given God’s grace to know the God of Abraham by doing things that were explained directly by Moses in the Law.

David understood that the God whom He worshipped was a holy God. None is able to see God without holiness. You need to defeat your fleshly desires to be able to keep living in holiness. This is the reason why believers need to live in total submission to God’s sovereignty. They could not live in their own will if they want to achieve the standard of God’s holiness. 

We have been sanctified by God through Jesus. Our task is to keep living in holiness until the end of our lifetime in earth. 

Believers have to surrender their lives to God - not follow their own desires. Here we struggle as we must be able to defeat our mind, feelings and will and live in the ways of the Lord.
