DAY 8 OF 8

EVERYDAY A RENEWAL

The apostle Paul wrote to the church in Rome to renew their mind, so that they can discern the will of God. Consistent renewal is what we should do. Consistent renewal means our way of thinking should not be according to the way of thinking of the worldly people. We should always be renewed so our thinking becomes like Christ's mindset.

The renewal of the mind also means changing all our old habits to the new behaviour. This change can happen when we are willing to throw away all our bad deeds.  It requires a strong commitment to throw away and forget our old bad habits. Throw away all our bad deeds without any affection, because often there are times we keep the old bad things because we feel affection for it.

Josiah acted appropriately, when he crushed, pounded until smooth, as well as burned all the idols with nothing left. Do you know why Josiah acted so? Because Josiah realized that it was wrong before God to worship idols, and this idol worshipping is an obstacle of God's blessing, resulting in his blessing not being poured out on His people. Often people expect God's blessing without wanting to throw away bad old things that are not pleasing to the Lord. Josiah understood, that the key to the blessing from the Lord to His people was by annihilating all the abominable things that his people worship.

Renewal can only happen when we want to humble ourselves in the face of God, realizes that we need God's favour over this life.

The change can happen when we want to get rid of all bad deeds, and don’t forget it requires your strong commitment.
