LIVING IN HOLINESS
We all agree that God is the Most Holy and Most Glorious One, so that any unclean thing cannot approach or stand before His holiness. Why? Because all things that are not holy will be burned in His presence. Darkness and light cannot be united.
Then how can we approach the Most Holy God? We all still have many things that are not worthy in our hearts and minds. Yes, indeed, holiness is an absolute requirement to be able to stand before God. The Bible writes that without holiness we are not worthy to come before God.
That is why in the days of Israel in the Old Testament, God gave the terms and conditions for how the priest was to come before the Lord. He had to bring an animal to sacrifice as a redemption of the people's faults and sins. But in the New Testament time God Himself, through Jesus Christ, gave His own life to be sacrificed for our redemption. So by the power of Jesus’ blood we are sanctified and made holy. By the truth—the Word of God and the Holy Spirit—we are sanctified and made worthy.
That is why, before we come before God, we have to make sure that we come with a pure heart, in Christ's forgiveness and God's mercy. Furthermore, we who have been sanctified by the blood of Jesus, let's live in holiness. Living in holiness is living in fear of God, honoring the omnipresent and omniscience God.
Our honor of God can be seen in how we love our neighbor and honor each other.
