UNCOMMEN: DEFCON

DAY 2 OF 5

DEFCON 4: Increased Security Measures

You may be familiar with the movie "The Ten Commandments" with Charlton Heston as Moses. If you are not, watch it! It's a classic worth your time. If you are familiar with the movie, then you can see in your mind Moses holding his staff over the waters of the Red Sea as the Egyptians were in hot pursuit of them.

Before computer-generated imagery was even a thought, movie special effects were a lot more complicated. I still don't know how they pulled this off back in 1956 but it has made its mark in my memory.

As the waters receded and allowed the Israelites to cross on the dry ground, you understood that God was in complete control of the situation. Nothing the Israelites nor Egyptians could do would impact the shear power and will of God and the protection of His chosen people.

In DEFCON 5, we are at peace and free to love all those around us. Here in DEFCON 4, you see that security measures are a bit higher, and God is stepping in to protect His people. When you are in the will of God, you are in the protection of God, even amidst storms.

In Philippians 4:7, the Bible talks about the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Do you know that peace of mind?

Uncommen Questions:

Are there storms raging all around you? How do you handle them?

Have you ever had a moment in which you watched God provide and protect you during a difficult moment in your life?

Uncommen Challenge:

I challenge you to take a moment and reflect on how God has intervened in your life. Thank Him for His Love and Mercy. I also challenge you to take any current storm you are going through to that same faithful God to calm your heart and give you peace about the road ahead.
