Is Building Wealth Biblical?

DAY 5 OF 5

Is Building Wealth Biblical? Part V

Sometimes wealth is passed on to people, such as when a family member takes over the family business.

Years ago, I was speaking with a friend who was taking over his family’s business. In a candid moment, he told me, “I’m afraid that this wealth could draw me away from my relationship and total dependence upon God.”

1 Timothy 6:10 says, “For the love of money is a root of all sorts of evil, and some by longing for it have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.”

Money isn’t the problem, it’s the love of money. Generosity has helped my friend avoid the allure of money. He is wise to fear its appeal.
