The Kingdom of Heaven

DAY 2 OF 4

Before Christ died for our sins, God and man experienced disconnection from each other. God sent Jesus down to Earth to show humanity not only what Heaven looks like but how Earth should look. He did this by healing diseases, praying for people, and teaching about the Kingdom of Heaven. But His ultimate goal was to die on the cross for our sins. With that accomplished, whoever believes in Jesus can receive eternal life. We also receive the helper called The Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit's job is to help us live the life God has for us. It also grants us our adoption into God's royal family.

Paul tells us in Romans that God adopted us into His family. Because of this adoption, we become heirs of God and co-heirs with Jesus. Jesus' primary mission during his ministry was to reveal the Kingdom of Heaven to people. We get to join the work that Jesus did on Earth. And to a child of God, the Kingdom of Heaven is a treasure that we shouldn't keep to ourselves.

As a Christian, this means God has a plan for you. He won't force you into it. He invites you into it. He wants you to see what He sees. What does God see? A restored world that you helped to restore. God wants to use YOU in HIS miracle. But to join His plan and be successful, you need to know who you are.

Reflect

  • Do you believe that Jesus died for your sins? If so, take a minute to pray and thank God for your salvation. If not, talk to someone you trust about starting a relationship with Jesus.
  • Take 5 minutes and ask God what He has planned for you. Ask Him to put dreams and visions into your heart. Write down anything He tells you.
