Running From The Heart

DAY 19 OF 31

It’s a New Day

Great is His faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning. (Lamentations 3:23, NLT)

“It’s a new day. I have: new eyes, new mind, new heart, new ears, new desires...new manna each day, new mercies every single morning.”

Rebecca’s inner strength shines through her words. The glow of courage as she went from strength to strength, came at great cost after walking through a dark, wintry season of illness. The great sadness of grief and loss, her very busy life and her heart to serve others had left her physically and emotionally exhausted.

“I pressed fast forward, so restless after Alex went home, almost couldn’t stop to pause, suffering everywhere. I pray for the lost souls. The reality I once knew is suddenly something different, keep focused on God and keep praying. I will trust in who God says He is, rather than who I think He is.”

Rebecca memorized scripture and hid God’s word in her heart as a young girl. She was so grateful for the powerful word of God that was now sustaining her in this dark season. The Holy Spirit comforted her grieving heart and reminded her of God’s promises.

Selah

I hold you by your right hand – I, the Lord your God. And I say to you, “Don’t be afraid. I am here to help you.” (Isaiah 41:13, NLT)

For reasons only known to God, sometimes He takes us on a spiritual journey through painful seasons. Within the depth of the dark clouds, He is still close. Look for His treasures in the darkness and you will find them, as sure as the sunrise. His precious truth will bring light to your path and faith will rise and strengthen your heart. Trust that God will hold you no matter what!

Has pain, grief, loss, exhaustion, fear, doubt, loneliness or something else settled over you? If it has, share what you’re going through with someone you trust, without delay.

Passing the Baton:

Run with courage in the midst of the darkness and seek out the truth in God’s word.

Rebecca’s Prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father, I cry to you for help. Bring afresh to my heart your great love for me and let your grace carry me in this dark season. Thank you for your faithfulness and your new mercies offered to me each morning. Help me to find the treasures you have for me each day. Amen.
