DAY 5 OF 7

Precious Value

Psalm 139 also answers the question, “When does life begin?”

Life begins when it is knit together in the mother’s womb—in that place—as sperm and egg come together. God knits us together as male or female. God’s knitting is so intricate. Sir Isaac Newton said, “In the absence of any other proof, the thumb alone would convince me of God's existence.”

God has said, “I put a fingerprint in you and on you,” that is why humans are valued. What brings value to anything? An exterior statement brings value to something. Gold is worthless unless everybody wants it. Land is worthless unless somebody is going to build a shop or a house on it.

God has put His fingerprint on us and has said that we are created in His image. That is why you can drive past a dead possum on the road, but you would never drive past a dead person on the road. It is different. All creatures are not the same. God’s image is on you and me.

This knitting that comes together in a mother’s womb reveals our great value. God can do great things in us. He can move through us, and move our minds and our hearts so that we can love people whom we didn’t love before.

God can do more than we can think of or even imagine, so we can walk in the paths that He has prepared for us to live out His plan. God is at work; it happens through the knitting. You have been intricately created by God, and that gives your life a precious value.

We also have His most valuable gift of love, which comes through Jesus Christ and what He has done for us. When we understand how valuable we are to Him, His thoughts will be our greatest treasure and they will enable us to walk in His ways.

God, how have You knit me so wonderfully! Move my heart and my mind to follow through on the continuation of Your plan and Your will for my life. I am ready to follow Your fingerprint. Amen.

About this Plan

[Psalms] Everything

Everything in us is crying out, “I want to be known… please notice something special about me!” God’s knowledge of us is an intimate kind of knowledge. He knows everything about us yet He fully loves us. Experiencing this sort of love frees us from all of our fears and empowers us to follow His guidance—the dreams He has for us, the fingerprint of God on our lives.
