Who Is God?

DAY 10 OF 14

God’s Sovereignty

God has complete power. The Psalms tells us he does whatever pleases him and Ephesians tells us that everything conforms to his will. What God wants to happen will happen and nothing can thwart his plan.

This is a great comfort when we consider also his great wisdom, love, justice and goodness. Not only does God know what is best to happen – he is able to make this happen. We can trust God knowing he’s a good God who loves us and knowing he is in complete control of all things.

What do I get anxious about? How does knowing God is in control change the way I think about it?

Prayer:
Lord, you have complete power. You have placed the government in their position of authority. Please align their priorities and concerns with yours. Give them wisdom. Remove any corruption and give them a love of justice. Give them concern for the weak and the poor. Remove any selfishness and enable them to serve with love. Amen.
