The Carnal MindSample

Carnally Minded.

“For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.” Romans‬ ‭8:6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

According to Strong’s Concordance, the Greek word for “Carnal” is, ‘Sarx’ (G4561) which means, “The flesh, denotes mere human nature, the earthly nature of man apart from divine influence, and therefore prone to sin and opposed to God.” To be fleshly, or to be carnally minded, leads to spiritual and physical death. When your heart craves the things of this world, your heart begins to harden and wither. When you are carnally minded, your heart is searching for something that lust cannot fill. When you are “flesh-minded” or carnally minded, you’re selfishly focusing on satisfying the flesh. Let God crush your fleshly and selfish ambition and desires. Choose to surrender to Christ. Choose to submit to His Way of doing things.  

When you surrender to the things and ways of the world, your heart will never be satisfied. Lust is never satisfied. There is a void that cannot be filled by the temporal things of the world. Romans‬ ‭8:6‬ ‭NLT declares, “So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace.” Let Christ rule your mind. Let Christ fill every dry place. Let Christ fill every aspect of your heart. Let His Word fulfill every part of your life. Surrender your heart to Him. His Word is Life. His Word is Truth. His Word is Spirit. His Word is inexhaustible. His Power is far reaching. His Love has no end. 

Romans‬ ‭8:6‬ ‭AMPC declares, “Now the mind of the flesh [which is sense and reason without the Holy Spirit] is death [death that comprises all the miseries arising from sin, both here and hereafter]. But the mind of the [Holy] Spirit is life and [soul] peace [both now and forever].” ‬‬When you surrender to Christ and apply His Word to your life, He will lead and guide your path. When you surrender to the ways of the world, your heart becomes entangled and choked by the cares and lusts of the world. Surrender to Christ and follow God’s plan for your life.
