Anxiety

DAY 3 OF 7

In the world of medicine there is a treatment known as “replacement therapy.” When we are anxious, if we focus on the anxiety or on what is causing the anxiety, the situation can become worse and even unbearable. Today’s Scripture reading recommends a type of “replacement therapy.”

PRAY: Lord, I find myself anxious at times and even though I try not to worry, I struggle to think about other things.

READ: Allow the passage from Philippians to cut through your anxiety.

REFLECT: Consider this three-step plan to work through anxiety: 1) don’t worry about anything, 2) ask God for what you need, and 3) always ask with a thankful heart. How is that different from what you do now? What does it mean to you to be in union with Christ Jesus?

RESPOND: Thinking back to “replacement therapy,” how will you begin to fill your mind with things that are good and deserve praise?

About this Plan

Anxiety

Anxiety (noun): “a feeling of worry, nervousness, or unease, typically about an imminent event or something with an uncertain outcome.” You don’t need a dictionary definition to understand what you’re feeling, but what can you do when the feeling enters your reality and attempts to take over? Journey with us through the next seven days and see how God’s Word brings serenity to your situation.
