Something Needs To ChangeSample
I challenge you to work hardest at sharing the gospel. Work hardest at sharing the message of God’s holiness; our sinfulness; Jesus’s unique life, death, and resurrection; and the urgent need for people to trust in him as Savior and Lord for eternal life.
The gospel is the greatest news in all the world, it meets the greatest need in all the world, and, as such, we must work hardest at making it known. Working to provide clean water, medical clinics, care for orphans, rescue from slavery, and all sorts of other earthly suffering is extremely significant. Yet ministry that addresses eternal suffering is infinitely more important.
No water filter, food program, medical clinic, or slavery rescue operation will by itself get anyone into heaven.
Over and above all these physical needs is the need for reconciliation with God, and that need can be met only when the gospel is proclaimed.
This in no way means that we restrict help amid earthly suffering to those who believe the gospel. On the contrary, we hope that help for earthly suffering will ultimately shine more light on the gospel. And we believe that when someone believes the gospel, the heart is transformed and the church is started, paving the way for all sorts of greater ministry to address earthly suffering.
Today you are surrounded by people who are separated from God and on the way to eternal suffering. And you have the antidote to this problem! So find someone today—even right now—and share the gospel with him or her. And commit your life to doing this every day where you live.
