21 Days of Rightful Relationships Sample
Day 15 – Let go! You deserve better!
Have you ever been in a relationship and you began to make excuses for behavior that may not be acceptable? Or you found yourself settling for less than God’s best because you so desperately wanted to be in a relationship. Or maybe you just lied to yourself or turned the “side eye” to ignore behavior that all of your loved ones clearly could see. More importantly, God gave you warning after warning, sign after sign, but you were so “caught up” that you simply could not break yourself loose.
Yes, God has better
I can recall hearing a saying while growing up. “Having some love is better than having no love at all!” Although I haven’t heard this saying in a long time, it dawned on me as I wrote this devotion and I thought, “Really? Are people willing to accept anything in the name of love?” God tells us in His Word that He is able to do more than we could ask or think, refer to Ephesians 3:20! This applies to all areas of our lives, and yes – this means God wants to give you His best in the area of relationships as well!
When we hold on to the little crumbs of the world, we place ourselves in a position to not be fully prepared for the great blessings God has stored for us. God reminds us to forget the things of the past and move to what is before us. In Philippians 3:14, it tells us to press toward the mark of the higher calling. God is calling us to not settle for the crumbs. He wants us to come to a higher level! Remember, God thinks of His children as a royal priesthood. So why would God give you anything that is not up to His standards for you?
