Send The Word.
“When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.” Matthew 8:10 KJV
As Jesus entered the streets of Capernaum a Centurion, sought him out and said, “And saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented.” Matthew 8:6 KJV This Centurion was a man under authority and he was also in authority. Imagine, a man who was in the Roman army who had authority, influence and status seeks out Jesus to tell Him about his servant who is sick and grievously tormented.
Imagine what would have happened to this prominent Centurion’s servant if he did not go out and seek out help. This Centurion did not let pride or his prominence get in the way of another man’s breakthrough. Don’t allow your influence, position, status or wealth get in the way of someone else’s deliverance.
From this text, we also notice the heart of the centurion. Notice in Matthew 8:6 what the Centurion calls Jesus. The Centurion calls Jesus, “Lord”. This Centurion under Roman authority, who had political influence, military oversight, and prominence called Jesus, “Lord”. Humility is the key to accessing the Father’s Heart. Humility is the key to your breakthrough.
Surrender your crown, position and influence on the altar and submit to God’s Ultimate Authority. When Jesus saw the heart of the centurion He stated, “I will come and heal him.” Matthew 8:7 KJV. The Centurion received the clearance of Jesus to come to his house and heal the Centurion’s servant, but look at the text, the Centurion took his request one step further.
