Opening The Door To Your DreamSample
Overcoming Fear to Break Out of Your Comfort Zone
As we saw yesterday, sometimes our dreams are not realized because we are afraid. Afraid of what? Could be many things: Failure. Loss. Looking foolish. Running out of resources. Wasting your time. Making mistakes. Finding out your dream wasn’t as grand as you believed it to have been. Or finding out truths concerning yourself you may not want to know. The list goes on and on of the things we, as people made with finite minds and tender hearts, can find to fear. Yet God calls us to follow Him boldly, without fear (Isaiah 41:10).
But when we give in to fear, the door remains closed. Because you (or the many others like you) are just not comfortable enough to stick in the key, open up the door and step on in.
Comfortable.
Comfort zone.
A comfort zone is what we know, predict and feel safe within. It’s not where your dream will be found. Nobody’s dream will be there. This is because the very nature of a dream is something beyond your own abilities, resources and even talents.
Your dream sits outside of your routine, predictable and safe surroundings … as all dreams do. God doesn't place your dream in your lap as a gift to unwrap. Rather, your purpose is discovered in the journey itself. This journey allows you the opportunity to grow, learn, adjust and develop yourself in such a way that when you walk through the door to your dream - you are ready to live it out!
