Affirmation: Self Or God? By Robin Meadows

DAY 2 OF 6

SELF AFFIRMATION:

“I am worthy.”

Are you? Am I? What makes any of us worthy? Who gets to decide our worthiness? To what value are we compared?

Worthy denotes worth. Merriam-Webster defines worth as: the value of something measured by its qualities or by the esteem in which it is held.

So where do you get your value? Is your worth found in your job? In your relationships? Is your value found in what other people think about you or even what you think about yourself?

What happens to your worth and value when that job or relationship ends? What happens when you don’t love yourself? In this dark place, guilt and shame consume your worth, sinking you into despair. When you cannot love yourself, no positive affirmation is enough to pull you back up, no matter how many times you repeat it.

You need a true and sure way to know your value and worth.

Scripture never says that our worth comes from anything or anyone other than our Creator—the One who loves us deeply and thought of us before the beginning of time. The God who chose you also placed you at this specific time and place in history to express a small facet of His love and glory that no one else can! You are that unique and special!

Value is determined not by the cost to create an object, but rather, by how much someone is willing to pay to have it.

Your God values you so much that He came to earth as a baby—fully human. He lived and experienced a normal life, including all its messy relationships and temptations, and He did so without sin. Then He paid the highest price for you by giving up his own life, embracing your consequence—eternal death, because He values you. He loves you that much!

You were worth it to Him then and you are still worth it to Him today.

Think about this. In the Kingdom of God we are simply placeholders—zeros!  In mathematics, zeros alone have no value. A zero’s value is only created by the number that stands before it. Here’s the great news: if you have The One in front of you, then you are a TEN!! Your worth comes from Him, giving you extremely extravagant value!

When my identity and worth is found in the deep love of my Creator, and when I allow His love to define who I am, then I am free to be the true me—the me He created me to be. Amazingly free, amazingly worthy!

If you don’t know that kind of Love, search for it in His word beginning with today’s scriptures. Write the God-affirmation on your mirror or a card. Keep the truth before you at all times to remind you when the enemy’s lies are loud. Ask God to reveal to you who you are to Him. Listen closely and He will tell you. He is waiting with arms open wide.

He’s the God who chose us when we were nothing! His tender love for us continues on forever!” Psalms‬ ‭136:23‬ ‭TPT

GOD AFFIRMATION:

“I am worthy and have great value because of the price Jesus paid for me.”

About this Plan

Affirmation: Self Or God? By Robin Meadows

Self-empowerment and personal development are prevalent concepts in our culture today. Being self-aware, responsible, and knowing your strengths and weaknesses is a plus in life. But, could popular self-affirmations be just far enough from the Truth that believing them could hold you back from living the very best life God has planned for you? Let’s dig into scripture in this 6-day plan by Robin Meadows to see what is revealed.
