I WILL STAND STRONG 30 DAY CHALLENGE

DAY 16 OF 30

How God Uses Broken People

God uses broken people. And by broken we don’t mean unuseful; rather, we mean fully useful…to the Lord.

When we (the Benhams) were young, our dad used to say, “Only those horses willing to be broken by their master are fit to pull the king’s chariot. The rest are left to pasture.”

So, when we say broken, we mean submitted to the bit and bridle of God. Our actions and attitudes are now under His guidance and control. When this happens, we become incredibly useful in the hands of our Master.

Yet, often times, our sinful natures can be like a bucking stallion in a mud pit, refusing to be broken by the rider. But God doesn’t want us stuck in that pit. He wants us to trust Him and submit to His leading. Then, and only then, can He use us to do His will on earth.

However, Satan wants us stuck in sin, rendering us un-useful for the Kingdom.

What about you?

Maybe you’ve been caught in sin’s grip before or have suffered greatly for refusing to be broken. Can God still use you?

The good news is, YES, HE CAN! And He will, if you let Him. All you have to do is ask God to forgive and purify you, just like He did for King David in Psalm 51.

And then…saddle up! Because God is going to use you—just like He did David—to glorify Him in mighty ways.

When was a time in your life you’ve been broken? What lessons did you learn from God during that time?
