Heaven

DAY 1 OF 5

We all have a shelf life. One hundred years from now, very few of us reading this today will still be on this side of eternity. The fact is 100 percent of the people alive today will die, unless Jesus comes in our generation.

And even though our time here on Earth is limited, God created us for eternity. We have eternal souls, and you, the real you, the part of you that was made by God, will live eternally, either in heaven or in hell. God has put heaven within us — an instinct, a belief, a tiny something in our DNA, telling us there is a life beyond this life on earth.

So, is heaven real?

The only authority we have and the only real truth we can rely on about heaven is in God’s inerrant and infallible Word. In the Bible, you will find more than 600 specific references to heaven! There is a real emphasis on heaven and the importance of eternity. Your best life is not now! It’s your eternal life with God!

What is it about heaven that makes it everything we hope for? Jesus! He is there, and heaven is all about Him! When it comes time to leave here, we will not be leaving home, we’ll be going home to be with Him. That’s what is exciting about heaven.

Yes, Jesus will be in heaven, but the only way to get there to be with Him is to know Him here on Earth. If you want to know how to get to heaven, Jesus tells us plainly in John 14:6: “I am the way, the truth, the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”

The route to heaven is found in Jesus. It’s all about Him and going home to be with Him. Only a relationship with Jesus Christ will take you there. This is why it is essential that Christians understand the eternal nature of our lives so that we can make an impact on forever right now.

Get up every day with a sincere hope, and set your mind on the eternal!
