Word On The Street - IV

DAY 1 OF 41

ENTER WITH THANKSGIVING

It’s good to begin prayer by trusting the testimony of the Spirit to our hearts that we are God’s children in Christ; free to enter His presence with confidence, always received with joy.

As you begin to spend time with the Lord today, start with a simple prayer of thanksgiving, offering yourself to Him as you are, confident He sees you as He sees Christ Himself.

LISTEN TO GOD’S WORD

Meditation is focused thinking. It’s when we bring our hearts and minds to pay close attention to God’s word. Read the passage for the day meditatively. Pay attention to the heart of the passage, the nature of God, the grace of God in Christ, and the impressions the Spirit of God presses on your heart.

RESPOND TO GOD IN PRAYER

Prayer is a response to God’s word. After reading the passage, respond to God with adoration, confession, thanksgiving and supplication.

Adoration

What in the passage prompts you to give praise to God for who He is and what He does?

Confession

What in the passage prompts you to confess any competing loves of your heart and resulting sins that may harden your heart and weaken your love for Jesus?

Thanksgiving

What in the passage prompts you to celebrate the good news of what Christ has done for us?

Supplication

The biblical pattern of supplication is asking boldly and surrendering completely. What in the passage prompts you to ask God to help change in you, as you submit to His redemptive work in you?

What in the passage prompts you to intercede for others with boldness and submission?

SHARE WITH YOUR COMMUNITY

Someone else may need to hear what you’ve received from God. You may need to hear what someone else has received from God.

What can you share with somebody about what you've heard from God's word today?
