Love God Greatly: To Do Justice, To Love Kindness, To Walk Humbly

DAY 23 OF 26

Once again, Micah reveals the sins of the people. He talks today about the sellers and merchants who used wicked scales and deceitful weights. They were robbing the poor and needy in order to accumulate more wealth.

We may not see these deceptions, but God does. We‘ve already seen how He cares about the poor, so we know He won´t ignore this sin. Merchants were exploiting the people by charging them abusive prices, but they would reap what they were sowing. This is a basic principle we see in God's Word (Galatians 6:7-8). God can‘t be fooled.

What you sow, you will reap. What are you sowing? What will be your fruit? The farmer who sows wheat can expect to reap wheat, not apples. Because of their actions, these rich men wouldn't be satisfied when they ate. They wouldn't have oil or wine even though they treaded olives and grapes. They were doing wrong to others and wrong things were coming their way, too.

Dear God, help me be careful with the things I sow. Help me use everything I have to promote the things of the Spirit and to have a big harvest for Your glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

About this Plan

Love God Greatly: To Do Justice, To Love Kindness, To Walk Humbly

We are surrounded by injustice and pain. We see it not only in our world but also in our own lives and it can be disheartening and overwhelming. But we are not without hope. This is what Micah is all about. He is not afraid to get in our face about some hard topics like sin and judgement.
