40acts: Do Lent Generously

DAY 40 OF 47

Reflect

Sundays during 40acts are a chance to pause, refocus, and invite God into your journey of generosity. Here are some thoughtful questions to help you reflect on the past week and prepare for the next:

Looking back:

  1. Where did you see God at work this week?
  2. Which act of generosity stretched you the most? How did you feel afterward?
  3. Was there a moment you hesitated to be generous or struggled to act? What held you back, and what can you learn from it?

Gratitude and growth:

  1. What are you thankful for this week?
  2. Did anyone bless or encourage you during the week? How did that influence your own generosity?
  3. Has your understanding of generosity, service, or kindness grown since the start of this journey?

Looking forward:

  1. What’s one thing you’d like to do differently in the week ahead to reflect God’s heart of generosity?
  2. Is there someone or something on your heart that you’d like to pray for this week as you continue?
  3. How can you invite God into your plans for the week ahead, trusting His guidance in your giving?

Prayer:

Pray for a heart that remains humble and teachable, open to God’s guidance in every act of generosity. Ask for wisdom to recognise moments when giving may stretch you but lead to growth, and the trust to follow God’s prompting without fear. Pray for perseverance when generosity feels costly or unnoticed and for joy in knowing that God sees every act, big or small.

About this Plan

40acts: Do Lent Generously

What if Lent was about more than just giving stuff up? This Bible plan is an adaptation of the full 40acts challenge. Our hope is that as you explore and practice biblical generosity in all areas of your life, you would experience its transformational impact. Each day contains a prompt for one act of generosity on that day's topic, with Sunday reflections summarising the theme of the acts that week.
