Peace That Transcends All Understanding

DAY 4 OF 7

CALL ON HIS NAME

The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!" Matthew 8:25.

In this passage we read about a real storm that took place on the Sea of Galilee. The disciples were in a small fishing boat, probably no longer than six meters. And who was sleeping in that little boat? Yes, the Problem Solver! Matthew tells us that a furious storm came up, without warning. The waves swept over the boat. But Jesus slept. His disciples were filled with fear. They went and woke Him, saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown” Matthew 8:25.

Maybe these are your exact words today. “Lord, save me! Can’t you see that I’m drowning? Can’t you see the waves sweeping over me? Can’t you see the winds tearing everything apart?” Then listen to the Lord’s words in verse 26, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then He got up and He calmed the storm. Yes, He rebuked the winds and the waves, and everything was calm again. His disciples were amazed. “What kind of man is this?” they asked. “Even the winds and the waves obey Him!" Matthew 8:27.

Praise God! There is power in the name of Jesus Christ. Call on His name with faith, and He will do the same in your life as He did in that little boat. Go to the Problem Solver when you are filled with fear. He will calm your storm and fill you with His peace and tranquility once again.

Lord Jesus, sometimes I have little faith. My problems look so big and the storms in my life are so furious. I call on Your name today to calm the storms in my life and to let Your peace fill my life. Amen
