The Abundance Of God’s Love By Nina SmitSample
Surrounded by God’s Love
Psalm 32 deals with trust and forgiveness. In order to be completely happy, we have to be right with the Lord. When Christians sin, they obviously feel unhappy. Sin always means that you have exposed yourself to the wrath of God. Should you therefore continue sinning and refuse to confess your sins, you can be sure that all will not be well with you.
Yet God never leaves us to suffer in our unhappiness. No sin can separate us from His love (see Romans 8:38–39). If we confess our sins, He is immediately prepared to forgive and fill us with joy and peace (see 1 John 1:9). Jesus has already paid the price for your sin on the cross, and God’s forgiveness is therefore available to you today.
Do you still have sin in your life that makes you unhappy? Do something about it! Perhaps it will not be easy to break with specific sins, but God will help you to do so. Tell Him about those sins, confess them one by one, and He will surround you with His love.
Do you rejoice in obeying God’s law, or are you still ruled by your sinful nature? You no longer have to be; the secret of how to live happily is found in Jesus. He delivered you from sin when He died for you on the cross. All you have to do is turn your back on sin, ask Him to forgive you and start living according to His will.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, You are aware of each of my many sins. I want to confess them to You by name. Please forgive me. I trust in You. Thank You that I know You will surround me with Your love. Amen.
